Established in 1965, the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Research (IPGMR) was converted to Medical University in 1998. The university's journey started with the goal of higher medical education and research. This organization is known as the highest medical center and medical education center in Bangladesh.

University Hospital description
This medical university in Shahbagh has five storied buildings; Block A, B, C, D and Cabin Block. In this medical university, parallel education, research and medicine is going on.

Block
The block is located in seven storied, libraries, lecture theaters, auditoriums, hospital records, student hostels, dental faculties and blood transfusion sections.

Block-B
B Block is a six-storey building, in its eastern part, vice-chancellor's office, administrative offices, controller office, reception center, conference hall, radiology department, digital library, hospital catering center, maintenance center, endoscopy room, CT scan and MRI cell and duty doctor Nurses have accommodation.

The location of almost all the departments, including the nine-storey West End area of B block, are notorious, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, hematology, virology and microbiology. OneStop lab service is also provided from the bottom of B block.

The C block is a main hospital building with 10-storey building. Other offices of the Director of the hospital including the Office of the Director, the reception center, the telephone exchange, the Department of Physical Medicine, Pediatric, Neonatal Department, Pediatric Neurology, Offlammolgy, Nose, Ear, Throat, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Lithotripassi Cells, Operation Theater, Anesthesiology, Pain Clinic, Intensive Care Unit and Post Operative Ward Place the C block.

Outdoor:
External depart-section starts from eight in the morning. All departments have different exits. To understand the type of disease, the concerned doctor has to cut the ticket and show the doctor concerned. If someone seems to have a mental problem, he can cut the mental illness department ticket. Of course, he can also cut the medicine department ticket. If necessary, then the concerned doctor will refer to the necessary departments.

The hospital is all tested. The patient does not have to go out for examination. Hospital activities started from eight in the morning.
The hospital has a separate cabin block. The building has a fairly well-cabled cabin. Recently the number of cabins has been increased in the building.

There is a mosque on the west side of the hospital. And there is a separate body for the body of the body, according to Muslim tradition.

Internal patients are mainly kept in C block. Here there are different wards of different departments.

In the well-lit central library, 750 students can study together. About 1200 teachers, doctors and member libraries are used every day.
